Postdoctoral Fellow: Plant Microbiomes and Environmental Change, Indiana University

Opportunity to work with existing comparative and experimental data sets. Postdoctoral opportunity in experimental evolution (Zurich)

A postdoctoral fellowship in evolutionary biology is available in the laboratory of Andreas Wagner at the University of Zurich. The fellow will study the evolution and evolvability of biomolecules either through experimental evolution or through the large-scale analysis of adaptive landscapes, using methods such as CRISPR-Cas genome editing. Lab members are a group with very diverse backgrounds and research projects, unified by their interests in evolution and life’s fundamental organizational principles. Recent experimental work in the lab ranges from the directed evolution of proteins to the experimental evolution of microbes  (e.g., Zheng et al., Science 2020; Toll-Riera et al, Science Advances 2022). Ongoing projects characterize the adaptive landscapes of biomolecules such as enzymes and transcriptional regulators. The successful candidate will have flexibility in designing their own project within the lab’s general research area (see also http://www.ieu.uzh.ch/wagner/).

We are looking for an individual who has received his or her PhD within the last five years, who is highly self-motivated and can work independently on a project that he or she will help develop. The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbiological techniques and molecular cloning. Applicants with experience in approaches such as deep-scanning mutagenesis, molecular barcoding, and CRISPR-Cas-based library design will be especially welcome. Experience with flow cytometry, as well as with computational analysis of high-throughput DNA sequence data, and machine learning applied to biological data will be a plus, as will be a research history in evolutionary biology. The position offers a highly competitive salary of up to three years on annually renewable contracts.


The working language in the laboratory is English. German skills, although helpful, are not essential. Zurich is a highly attractive city in beautiful surroundings, with a multinational population, and many educational and recreational opportunities.

Texas A&M APT Lecturer Position - Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applicants for a full-time Academic Professional Track Faculty position at the rank of Lecturer to instruct classes in genetics. This is a non-tenure track position with a 9-month academic appointment with the possibility of renewal annually. Assistant Professor in Functional genomics of adaptations in animals

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Genomics at Wesleyan

There is  4.5 years of funding for a research postdoc for genomic research.  At first, the position will be for 2.5 years, but can be extended for another two. The research will focus primarily  on the effects of fragmentation (natural and anthropogenic) and climate change on genome structure Dace (Rhinichthys) populations in Eastern and Central US.  We will also be collaborating with several other labs on Dace species Boundaries. Postdoc announcement: Climate change and community science

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher to lead a novel community/citizen science initiative bridging climate change, ecohydrology, and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) in STEM.

The candidate will be engaged in the implementation of a new program to distribute and collect climate data across the Windsor-Essex region of southwestern Ontario, Canada. The project aims to exploit the full potential of researchers and citizen scientists working collaboratively, including extending and up-scaling existing databases into accessible information assets that promote action on the Great Lakes management challenges, developing a sustainable program for training of citizen science leaders that integrates into existing education programs, developing the next-generation of data collection tools and software, and solving challenges related to data validation and optimally deploying sensor infrastructure.

Spanning urban to agricultural, including greenhouse environments, this position offers a unique opportunity to work with experts and community members to inform locally made solutions to combatting climate change and implement novel educational programming.

The successful candidate will have expertise across dimensions including, but not limited to, ecosystem and/or hydrological sciences, software engineering, geospatial analysis, educational research and/or outreach experience.
